LODI TOWNSHIP BOARD OF TRUSTEES
REGULAR MEETING
DECEMBER 5, 2000 7:30 P.M.
LODI TOWNSHIP HALL

The Lodi Township Board of Trustees regular began with the flag pledge recited in unison.

Present: Godek, Masters, Foley, Crowner, Lindemann, Rentschler, Solowczuk, Planning Chair, Jack Steeb, Attorney O’Jack, Deputy Butler and approximately 4 citizens.

The Supervisor welcomed the new board members, Michelle Foley, Treasurer and William

Lindemann, Trustee.

Minutes of the November 14, 2000 regular meeting were approved as distributed, as moved by Solowczuk, second Rentschler. Carried.

The Treasurer’s report was received and filed.

Deputy Butler reported on the month of November.

Zoning report received and filed

Planning commission reported on the November 21, 2000 meeting, which included a workshopon PUD zoning.

Godek reported on a meeting with State Police and an MTA appointed advisory board concerning the future policing of the county.

PUBLIC COMMENT

AMEND AGENDA

Moved Solowczuk second Masters to approve agenda as revised, adding reappointment of fireboardmember, and making roads into properly named roads and removing Natural Features Ordinance,

Pointe Plaza II and Noise Ordinance.

UNFINISHED BUSINESS

First Unitarian Church. The court of appeals didn’t believe the filing was the file order. They reworded it to make it more final, which now includes that the buildings are to be removed.

New Burn Ordinance presented to the board removing the requirement to call by 3:00 p.m. for a burn permit. Moved Masters, second Foley to adopt Burn Ordinance 2000-003. Roll Call vote: Aye: Masters, Godek, Lindemann, Crowner, Rentschler, Solowczuk and Foley. Nay: None. Ordinance declared adopted.

NEW BUSINESS

Moved Solowczuk, second Crowner to send any trustees to MTA conference. Carried.

Moved Lindemann, second Solowczuk to sign the Sheriff contract for 2001 at $76,875 plus 33 cent a mile. Carried.

Moved Crowner, second Lindemann to take $37,000 from road budget and allocate as needed, putting remainder into unallocated. Carried. Moved Masters, second Solowczuk to move $4,000 from Township Fire Runs to non-resident runs. Carried.

Discussion held on fire run for Patricia Richardson in the amount of $364. Board granted no relief, but will be willing to take monthly payments until paid in full.

Request for relief from illegal burn by Michael Hunwick. Board did not grant and explained the reason, also discussed the reasons for the burn ordinance.

Moved Crowner, second Solowczuk to approve omitting the township name from the monthly subscriber bills from the Media One (Comcast). Carried.

Resolution no. 2000-007 approving the transfer of the Cable Television Franchise from Media One to Comcast. Attorney recommended approval. Moved Masters, second Foley to approve. Roll Call vote: Aye: Lindemann, Crowner, Rentschler, Solowczuk, Foley, Masters and Godek. Nay: None. Resolution declared adopted.

Moved Godek, second Solowczuk to approve filing fee, bond and seal for Clerk and Treasurer to become Public Notaries. Carried.

Moved Crowner, second Masters to appoint Dana Dever, Oscar Henes and Vance Schutes to the Lodi Township Board of Review for 2 years. Carried.

With Masters seconding, Crowner moved to approve the definition of single family dwelling, the change in Section 11.03 L - Special Uses and 11.04 - Regulations and Section 50.04 - Date, Exhibits and Information Required in Application. Carried. The changes for Section 59.02 needs to be corrected and returned to board for approval.

Moved Solowczuk, Second Masters to pay the bills. Carried.

Discussed the possible need to increase our insurance liability. Need to contact the insurance company as to cost of increase to liability.

No other business brought before the board, the meeting adjourned. Next meeting January 2, 2001 at 7:30 p.m.
