Ordinance No. 2001-101
AN ORDINANCE TO REPLACE THE LODI TOWNSHIP TRAFFIC ORDINANCE BEING THE UNIFORM TRAFFIC CODE AS AMENDED BY ADOPTING BY REFERENCE THE MICHIGAN VEHICLE CODE, 1949 PA 300, MCL 257.1 TO MCL 257.923 AS AMENDED, FOR THE PURPOSE OF REGULATING THE STREETS AND HIGHWAYS OF THE TOWNSHIP OF LODI, TO SET FORTH THE PENALTIES THEREFOR, AND TO REPEAL ALL ORDINANCES OR ORDINANCE SECTIONS INCONSISTENT THERETO.
THE TOWNSHIP OF LODI, WASHTENAW COUNTY, MICHIGAN ORDAINS:
SECTION 1. Short title.
This ordinance shall be known and may be cited as "The Lodi Township Traffic Ordinance."
SECTION 2. Code adopted.
The Michigan Vehicle Code, 1949 PA 300, MCL 257.1 to MCL 257.923, as amended, is adopted by reference.
SECTION 3. References in code.
References in the Michigan Vehicle Code to “local authorities” shall mean the Township of Lodi.
SECTION 4. Penalties..
The penalties provided in the Michigan Vehicle Code are adopted by reference, provided, however, that the Township of Lodi may not enforce any provision of the Michigan Vehicle Code for which the maximum period of imprisonment is greater than 93 days.
SECTION 5. Severability.
If any section, subsection, sentence, clause, phrase or portion of this ordinance is for any reason held invalid or unconstitutional by any court of competent jurisdiction, such portion shall be deemed a separate provision and such holding shall not affect the validity of the remaining portions.
SECTION 6. Repeal.
All other Ordinances or sections of Ordinances inconsistent with the provisions of this Ordinance are, to the extent of such inconsistencies, hereby repealed.
SECTION 7. Savings clause.
The repeal provided herein shall not abrogate or affect any offense or act committed or done, or any penalty or forfeiture incurred, or any pending fee, assessments, litigation, or prosecution of any right established, occurring prior to the effective date hereof.
SECTION 8. Location the Michigan Vehicle Code is available for inspection.
A copy of the Michigan Vehicle Code, as amended, may be inspected or obtained at the Lodi Township Hall.
SECTION 9. Publication and Effective Date.
This ordinance shall be published once in a newspaper having general circulation in Lodi Township and shall take effect 30 days after the first publication of the ordinance.

I, Elaine E. Masters, being duly elected Clerk for Lodi Township, Washtenaw County, Michigan, state that on December 4, 2001, at a regular meeting of the Lodi Township Board of Trustees, member Masters moved and member Foley supported a motion to adopt "The Lodi Township Traffic Ordinance."

Ayes: Foley, Crowner, Masters, Lindemann, Rentschler and Godek.
Nays: None.
Absent or abstain: Solowczuk (absent)
The ordinance was declared adopted and published in the Saline Reporter on December 13, 2001 and became effective 30 days following its date of publication.
